Selection

Franchises areawarded selectively.

Eight steps, in order, each of which can end the process. Capital alone does not get anyone through it — this is not a territory that can be bought, and there is nothing to buy: no franchise is being offered or sold at this stage.

Experienced installers only.

This is not a beginner franchise opportunity. TeslaWrapper is looking for experienced professional vehicle wrap installers and established wrapping businesses — people who already understand vinyl installation, vehicle preparation, finishing, heat management, disassembly and reassembly, and quality control. Prior professional wrapping experience is required.

We are building a network of experienced professionals — not teaching complete beginners how to wrap cars from scratch.

Who this is for

What each side brings

What we provide

  • The brand and the standards behind it
  • The operating system: intake, scheduling, deposits, documentation
  • Training on TeslaWrapper procedures — not on how to wrap
  • The technology that runs a location
  • The marketing infrastructure and the inbound demand it produces
  • Ongoing support on difficult jobs, materials and method changes

What you bring

  • Hands-on professional installation experience, already held
  • The judgment to know when a panel is wrong before a customer does
  • A portfolio of completed vehicles we can look at
  • A facility, or the ability to secure one, that meets the standard
  • The willingness to run one narrow service line and hold it
Qualification

The experience bands

Asked on the application, and answered honestly on the spot. An answer below the line is told so rather than absorbed by a form and met with silence.

  • Less than 1 yearNot currently eligibleThe franchise track starts from professional installation ability we can assess. Under a year, there is not enough completed work to assess.
  • 1–2 yearsReview requiredConsidered, but the portfolio and the skills evaluation carry more weight here than anywhere else on this list.
  • 3–5 yearsEligible to applyThe band the model is built around: enough vehicles behind you to have made the expensive mistakes already.
  • 5+ yearsPreferredPreferred. Depth in difficult material and difficult panels is the thing that does not transfer from a manual.
  • Established wrap businessPreferredPreferred. You already run the operational half; what we add is the brand, the standard and the system around it.
Verification

How experience is verified

Everything above is self-reported on a form, and self-reported experience is not evidence. What is asked for afterwards is the evidence.

A portfolio of completed vehicles

Photographs of cars you wrapped, not a gallery of work you admire. Full vehicles, edges and seams included, and enough of them to show consistency rather than one good day.

Years of professional wrapping

Where, on what, and for whom. A band on a form is a starting point for that conversation, not the end of it.

Previous or current wrap business

If you run or ran a shop, we want to know what it did, how it was staffed and why you would rather do this.

Brands and materials worked with

Which films, which series, and where each one gave you trouble. The answer to that last part tells us more than the rest of the form.

References

People who have watched you work or paid you to: suppliers, employers, shop owners, customers.

A skills evaluation

In person where possible, on video where it is not. Real material on a real vehicle, assessed against the same categories every installer is assessed against.

Certification

Certification before opening

Being an experienced installer is what makes a candidate worth assessing. It is not the same as being certified to install under this name, and the second one has to happen before a location opens.

Experience gets you considered. Certification gets you approved.

  1. 01

    Assessment against the standard

Your installation is assessed against the same evaluation categories every TeslaWrapper installer is assessed against, on real vehicles and real material.

  2. 02

    TeslaWrapper procedures

Intake, condition documentation, panel sequencing as we do it, post-heat discipline, the inspection and the handover. Procedure rather than technique — the technique you bring.

  3. 03

    The inspection, run by you

You run the quality check yourself, on a car, and your result is compared against ours on the same vehicle.

  4. 04

    Certification decision

Granted, deferred with specific corrections, or declined. A deferral names the exact thing to fix rather than leaving you to guess.

  5. 05

    Before opening, not afterRequires FDD

A location does not take customer vehicles under this name until the person responsible for the work is certified.

Standard

What gets an installer rejected

Published rather than kept vague, because an installer is entitled to know what they are being measured against before they are measured. Any one of these, consistently, ends an evaluation.

Visible lifting

Edges, recesses or complex curves releasing after installation. The most common failure and the least forgivable, because it is visible to the customer within weeks.

Poor edge finishing

Ragged cuts, film short of the edge, over-wrapped edges that will catch, or tucks that were never made.

Contamination

Dirt, fiber or adhesive residue trapped under the film. It means the preparation was rushed, and preparation is most of the job.

Excessive seams

Panels broken up more than the vehicle requires, or seams placed where they are seen rather than where they are hidden.

Poor panel alignment

Color breaks, texture direction or pattern that do not line up across adjacent panels.

Improper disassembly

Broken clips, stripped fasteners, damaged trim, or parts refitted wrong. A car handed back with a rattle it arrived without.

Adhesive damage

Paint pulled, clear coat marked, or residue left behind. The line between a wrap and a repaint is exactly here.

Inconsistent inspection

Work that passes the installer’s own check and fails ours. An installer who cannot see the fault cannot hold the standard once nobody is watching.

Process

How we select franchisees

TeslaWrapper franchises are awarded selectively.

  1. 01

    Expression of interest

You tell us your market, your experience and what you are trying to build. A few minutes, and it commits you to nothing.

  2. 02

    Experience review

Your wrapping background and your portfolio, against the qualification bands. This is where an application ends if the work is not there.

  3. 03

    Business review

Capital, facility plan, staffing and how you intend to operate. We study the market with you at this step too — vehicle density, competition, property availability and cost, and whether the model fits the way that city works. Recorded as you describe it; nothing on a form is scored automatically.

  4. 04

    Installer evaluation

Technical skills and quality control, assessed on real material against the published categories.

  5. 05

    Interview

Fit for the brand: how you talk to customers, what you do when a car goes wrong, and whether the narrow service line suits you.

  6. 06

    ApprovalRequires FDD

A mutual decision, and the step where the Franchise Disclosure Document would be delivered and the waiting period the law requires would begin. That document does not exist yet, so nobody can reach this step today.

  7. 07

    Certification and trainingRequires FDD

Certification against the installation standard, then the TeslaWrapper operating system: procedures, documentation, technology and standards.

  8. 08

    LaunchRequires FDD

Facility approval, branding, systems, marketing, then opening. In that order — a location does not open and then get inspected.

Conduct

Franchisee code of conduct

A customer meeting one location is meeting the brand. These are conditions of carrying the name, not suggestions.

Professionalism

Turn up when you said, do what you said, and say so early when something changes. Most complaints in this trade are about communication rather than film.

Customer communication

Straight answers before payment, including the ones that lose the job. What the finish will and will not hide is said before the deposit, not discovered at handover.

Vehicle handling

Someone else’s car, driven and stored as such. Documented on arrival, kept secure, and returned in the condition it arrived in apart from the work.

Cleanliness

The bay, the preparation area and the customer area. A dirty shop is a contamination problem before it is an image problem.

Appearance

Presentable staff and presentable premises. A customer leaving a Tesla for three days is reading the room.

Brand representation

No claims we cannot support, no other shop’s photographs, no advertising outside the standards, and no speaking for the brand beyond your own location.
