What it does not cover is damage rather than workmanship — accidents, road debris and scratches, brush car washes, pressure washing straight at edges and seams, or film damaged by products it is not rated for. The film manufacturer’s own warranty is a separate thing that runs on 3M or Avery’s terms, and we help you make that claim rather than absorbing it as free rework.

Four films, plus printed graphics. Paradox Supreme Color PPF is $13,500 paid in full rather than a deposit-and-balance, which is why it is easy to miss in a list of tiers — it is a colored paint protection film, so it does the same job as Protection Wrap Film in a different product. Color-change vinyl wraps from $7,000, in 3M or Avery Dennison film. 3M™ Protection Wrap Film from $11,000 — paint protection film that comes in color, so it changes the look and protects the paint at once. And Avery Dennison® Conform Chrome from $15,000, a full mirror-chrome transformation. Custom printed graphics are not a fourth price tier — they are printed vinyl, quoted per project on top of a wrap. Ceramic coating is coming soon through a partner. We do not do fleet work — a company running several branded vehicles is not us — and we do not do window tint. One personally owned Tesla with your business name on it is a different thing entirely: that is a custom graphics project and we will quote it.

Color change starts at $7,000, Protection Wrap Film at $11,000, Conform Chrome at $15,000. Those are starting figures, not final ones — the vehicle, how much of it you want covered, the film and the finish all move the number. Color change is the exception and it is deliberate: $7,000 is $7,000 whether it is a Model 3 or a Cybertruck, even though the truck is a much bigger job. The thicker films do scale — a Cybertruck sits above the $11,000 and $15,000 figures rather than at them, because more surface is genuinely more material. We quote the car in front of us rather than publishing a price that will not hold.

No. The deposit reserves the project, not a date. After it is received we review your project and installation requirements; once confirmed we order your material and send you a confirmation within 1–3 business days. We then coordinate your installation date directly with you. There is no online calendar, and paying does not automatically guarantee installation — if we review a project and decline it, the deposit is returned in full.

Yes, and it is the better option whenever you can. Ashburn is our primary installation location: controlled lighting, controlled temperature, and your car has the bay to itself. It is appointment only, with no walk-ins, and the exact address comes with your confirmed booking.

It exists for people who genuinely cannot get to Ashburn. We come to you and install in your own garage — which means the garage has to be somewhere film can actually be installed: a single-family detached home you own, fully enclosed, held in the film’s working range, around 70°F before we arrive and throughout the installation, with three to five feet clear on every side of the car and safe access to power. Not a driveway, not a shared garage, not a condo or townhouse — that is a hard requirement rather than a preference. Do not overshoot either: a garage running far above the film’s working range is its own problem, so heat it to temperature rather than as hot as the heater will go. We review the property before agreeing to travel, and outside our home area there is a travel fee.

A single-family detached house with a private garage that you own. That is a hard requirement with no exceptions. Mobile installation is not available at condos, townhouses or townhomes, apartments or apartment complexes, shared residential garages, public or parking garages, parking lots, street parking, or commercial parking facilities. If your property is on that list, Ashburn is your route. Concierge collection — us driving it both ways so you do not make the drive twice — is coming soon rather than available.

Yes — $1,000 off each car, so $2,000 across two and $3,000 across three. It is color-change vinyl only, not Protection Wrap Film and not Conform Chrome. Two cars in one place usually means one trip, one setup and one round of coordination instead of two, which is where the saving comes from. You pay each car’s deposit as normal; deposits are not reduced and the $1,000 comes off that vehicle’s balance. Both sizes have their own links for both stages — $2,000 and $10,000 for two cars, $3,000 and $15,000 for three. Four or more will not match a fixed link, so text us rather than paying one that is close. Every vehicle has to be agreed as one project before material is ordered.

No. The deposit is non-refundable from the moment it is paid. There is no partial-refund window and no cooling-off period: changing your mind does not return it. Once the material is ordered the project can no longer be canceled or refunded, because the film is cut and bought for your specific car and does not go back on the shelf. Nothing is ordered until you have confirmed the vehicle, film and color with us, and we email you the order number and tracking when it happens — that email is your notice that the window has closed.

In many cases, yes. We can install film over certain existing paint chips and minor surface imperfections — the surface underneath does affect the final appearance, adhesion and longevity, so it is a conversation about your actual car rather than an automatic yes or no. What needs sorting first is loose or peeling paint, severe corrosion, major dents or otherwise unstable surfaces. We do not perform paint or body repair of any kind, so if repair is needed you arrange it with a qualified repair provider and we install once the car is ready. We tell you which of those your car is before you pay us anything.

No. TeslaWrapper does not do paint repair, body repair, dent repair, collision repair or any other bodywork — not as an add-on and not at any price. We are an exterior transformation shop: color-change vinyl, protection film and chrome. If your Tesla needs repair before it is wrapped, that goes to a qualified repair provider and comes back to us afterwards.

Yes. Existing vinyl wrap removal is $3,500 flat in Northern Virginia, and outside Northern Virginia it is $3,500 plus travel quoted for your location and agreed before travel is confirmed. It is a separate fee — it is not included in the $7,000, $11,000 or $15,000 projects. The flat fee covers standard removal; unusually difficult removal, excessive adhesive, multiple layers or severely deteriorated film gets reviewed and priced before we start rather than renegotiated with the car half stripped. The $3,500 applies to vinyl wrap only — not PPF removal, not ceramic coating, and obviously not repair.

Heat it. The garage has to be in the film’s working range when we arrive — 3M specifies 60–90°F for Series 2080, so around 70°F and stay there while we work, but you do not need permanent heating to manage that — a temporary garage heater from Home Depot or Lowe’s is fine. Start it well in advance, often several hours, depending on the size of the garage, the insulation, how cold it is outside and what the heater can do. We check the actual temperature on arrival rather than assuming, and if it is not there we reschedule or move the project to Ashburn. Use equipment rated for an enclosed garage, follow the instructions, and no open flames or improvised setups.

Yes — we take Tesla owners from anywhere in the United States, and what changes with distance is how the car and the installer end up in the same place rather than whether we will do it. Some markets are established routes with a published travel fee: DC, Maryland and Virginia, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware, West Palm Beach and Los Angeles. Outside those, travel is quoted for your project rather than taken off a list — tell us where the car is and we will give you a real figure, or tell you honestly that the studio is the better answer. Installation dates are typically 4–8 weeks out. Once your car is with us it is usually two to three days, or up to seven on a larger project. Those are two different numbers and people mix them up, so both are confirmed with your quote.

Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck. Narrowing to three is deliberate — repetition on the same shapes is what makes a wrap look right, and each of those cars fights a wrap somewhere different. The Cybercab is the fourth: reservations are open and nobody has wrapped one yet, including us.

Color and protection in one film. PWF is paint protection film that comes in color — a polyurethane protective film rather than a vinyl wrap — so it changes how the car looks while helping protect against rock chips, scratches, stains and everyday road exposure. It is roughly twice the thickness of vinyl, has self-healing properties, and we install it using the dry PPF process 3M specifies for it. Worth knowing on a bare Cybertruck: 3M states the film is not warranted on stainless steel. We have done it and it works, but that application sits outside their warranty and we will not tell you otherwise.

A full-vehicle chrome transformation with an unmistakable mirror finish, in the Avery Dennison SF100 range. It uses Avery’s Easy Apply™ RS adhesive technology, which is what makes a material this unforgiving positionable at all. It is the most demanding film we install and it shows whatever is underneath it, so every chrome project is reviewed individually before an installation date is finalized. It changes how the car looks; it is not a protective film.

Our projects are premium, creative and detail-intensive. The price reflects the material, preparation, installation, finishing, project coordination and dedicated time each vehicle takes — we work on one car at a time rather than moving vehicles through as quickly as possible.

No. It is the starting price. Custom projects can be priced higher depending on scope, materials, design complexity and the condition of the vehicle. You get the actual figure in writing before anything is agreed.

Not honestly, no. We need to see the vehicle and understand the project first. Send photos and a description and we will come back with a real number rather than a guess that will not hold.

3M publish a warranty on Series 2080 running up to 8 years vertical and 3 years horizontal depending on the color and the zone, and Avery Dennison publish their own equivalent. Vertical means the sides of the car; horizontal means the roof, hood and trunk lid, which take the sun straight on and always age first. Those are the manufacturer’s numbers rather than ours, they vary by the exact film your project uses, and we give you the specification for your actual product in writing with your quote. What moves it in real life is where the car lives: a Tesla that sleeps in a garage outlasts one that sits in a parking lot all summer, and that difference is larger than the difference between any two films.

A wrap is film applied on top of the factory paint. Nothing is sanded, sprayed, drilled or rewired, and no part of the car is modified. On that basis a wrap is not the kind of change that voids a vehicle warranty, and federal law is generally unfriendly to a manufacturer voiding a whole warranty over an unrelated accessory. But we are not Tesla and we are not going to answer for them: if a warranty question ever touched the paint or the panels underneath, Tesla decides that, not us. If it matters to you, ask Tesla before you book rather than after.

We are not going to claim a wrap protects your resale value, because we cannot show you that it does. What is true is narrower: the factory paint underneath is not touched and is not weathering while the film is on it, so a car that has been wrapped for three years has three-year-old paint in better condition than it would otherwise have. Whether a buyer pays you for that is up to the buyer. The other half of the answer is the one people do not want: an unusual color narrows the pool of people who want the car. If resale is the point, wrap it and take the wrap off before you sell, and you hand over the original color.

This one varies by state and we are not the authority on it. Several states expect the registered color to match what the car looks like, and a wrap is a color change even though the paint underneath has not changed. It is a five-minute question to your own DMV and it is worth asking before you drive a different-colored car around for a year. We are telling you the question exists rather than answering it for you, because getting it wrong is your ticket and not ours.

Tell them. Two separate reasons. First, some insurers want a color change on file and a claims adjuster will notice one. Second, and more expensively: a standard policy insures the car, not several thousand dollars of film on it. If the car is damaged, whether the wrap is replaced as part of the repair depends on your policy and often on whether you declared it. One phone call before you book is worth more than any sentence we can write here, and it is the same call we tell people to make about leaving a car at any shop.

Physically, yes — heat, patience and pulling at a shallow angle rather than straight up. Whether you should depends on the film and its age. New film in good condition off good paint usually comes away cleanly. Film that has been baked in the sun for years, cheap film that has started to fail, or anything over paint that is not original is where people pull paint off with it, and that is the risk 3M’s own warranty expressly excludes. If the wrap has been on a long time or you do not know its history, get it looked at first. Do not start at a lifting edge and work outward on a hot day — that is the version that goes wrong.

The panel gets repaired, repainted if it needs it, and then re-wrapped. That last part is a real job rather than a patch, and the honest problem is matching: film that has been on the car for two or three years has aged, and a brand-new panel of the same product beside it can read slightly different in direct sun. On a door or a bumper that is usually acceptable. Across a hood or a roof it can be noticeable. Talk to us before the body shop finishes, not after, and tell your insurer the car is wrapped when you file — that is the conversation that decides who pays for the re-wrap.

Not invisibly, and we will not pretend otherwise. Color-change vinyl does not heal — a scratch through the film is permanent and the fix is re-wrapping that panel. 3M Protection Wrap Film is different: it is a protection film and light surface marks in it self-level with heat, which is part of what the higher price buys. The upside on any of them is the one that matters: the scratch is in the film and not in your paint, which is the entire argument for having film on the car.

No. A full wrap on a Tesla is a few pounds of film across the whole car — less than a passenger’s backpack, and far less than the seasonal swing you already see from cold weather and tire choice. It is not something you will find in your range figures. Anyone telling you a wrap costs you meaningful range is guessing.

No. Film goes on painted and finished surfaces, not on glass. The glass roof stays glass, the windows stay windows, and we do not do window tint at all — that is a different trade with different film and different state rules, and we would rather send you to someone who does it properly than do it badly.

Removal is $3,500 in Northern Virginia, and that is the same fee whether the wrap is ours or somebody else’s. We do not charge our own customers a different number for it. Worth knowing before you buy rather than after: the wrap is $7,000 and taking it off later is a real cost, not a free undo. What removal is not is a repaint — your original color is under there the whole time.

Yes, and plenty of people do. It is the old wrap off and a new wrap on, so it is the removal fee plus the new project rather than a discounted second go. Film does not stack — wrapping over an existing wrap is not something we will do, because the result is only ever as good as the layer underneath it and you would be paying us to hide somebody else’s problem.

You can, and the honest first thing to say is that it is slow: quote to keys back is usually six to ten weeks, installation dates run four to eight weeks out, and the car is with us two to three days. There is no version of this that lands on a birthday next week. Everything else works in your favor — all correspondence goes to the person who paid, not to the car’s registered owner, so nothing from us lands on their phone. Tell us it is a surprise when you text and we will keep it that way.

Yes, if we agree it in writing before the day. Both ends normally involve you because they exist to protect you — you review the condition record before we start, and we walk the finished car against that record with you in daylight. A nominated person can do both. What we will not do is release a car to somebody we have not agreed with you in advance. If you are buying this for another person, say so up front and we will put their name on the handover rather than improvising it on the morning.

The twelve-month workmanship commitment follows the car we installed on and the household that bought it — not the name on the receipt. If you paid and they drive it, they can make a claim, and we are not going to make either of you produce paperwork about it. What it does not do is transfer to a stranger: it is not a warranty that travels with the car when it is sold.

Most projects run two to three days with the car; a larger one can run to seven. Where yours lands depends on the vehicle, whether existing film has to be removed first, the complexity of any custom graphics, and the finish you choose. Yes. Washing it yourself is kindest — a hose with a spray nozzle, a clean mitt, and a rinse before you touch the film so you are not dragging grit across it. A soapless (waterless) wash is a good alternative for light dirt. Keep pressure washers back and off the edges. On automatic washes we will be straight with you: the brushes and contact arms are a real risk to film, our own owner takes his through one anyway, and touchless is far kinder than anything with brushes.

What is holding it up is coverage: driving a customer’s car is the one thing we do where the absence of a commercial policy genuinely matters, and we would rather wait than run it uninsured. It opens when a policy is in place. Until then, bring the car to Ashburn or ask about mobile installation at your own property.

Ashburn is the studio, and it is where a car goes if you bring it — but we also travel to a defined set of markets: DC, Maryland and Virginia, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware, West Palm Beach and Los Angeles. Those are active, not aspirational. We drive to the first five and fly for the last two, which is why the travel fee differs. Anywhere outside that list, the honest answer is that the studio is open to you and we do not travel there.
