Delivery day

Take delivery.Get wrapped. Drive home.

Order your Tesla, arrange delivery with Tesla, and bring the car straight to Ashburn for an expedited appointment instead of driving it in the delivery color for two months.

Expedited appointments available by scheduling and approval — subject to availability, arrival time, vehicle condition, material availability and TeslaWrapper approval.

Tesla decides the delivery. Not us.

Tesla delivery locations, delivery dates, and the ability to change a delivery location are controlled by Tesla and are subject to Tesla’s policies and availability.

We cannot guarantee that Tesla will permit any particular delivery location or any date change, and we have no visibility into your order. If Tesla says no, or moves your date, that is between you and Tesla — ask them first, before you plan anything around us.

Before anything else

These are two separate bookings.

You arrange your Tesla delivery with Tesla, independently of us. You reserve your expedited project with TeslaWrapper separately. They are two separate bookings with two different companies, and neither one creates the other. TeslaWrapper does not control Tesla delivery scheduling, does not control Tesla delivery centers, and cannot see, move, hold or confirm anything on your Tesla order.

Do them in this order

Do them in that order. Talk to Tesla first and find out what your delivery can actually do, then come to us with a date. Booking us first and asking Tesla afterwards is how somebody ends up with an appointment and no car.

What your deposit does and does not do

Your deposit reserves your project, the same as every other project here. It does not reserve a date and it does not buy the expedited slot. If Tesla moves your delivery, or the car arrives too late in the day, or the expedited appointment cannot be offered after all, your project still stands and we schedule it the normal way — the deposit is not refunded because the timing changed, so do not pay it as a bet on the timing.

National

You don’t have to live here.

Buy your Tesla anywhere. Take delivery in the DMV. Get wrapped. Drive home.

Buy your Tesla anywhere in the United States. If Tesla will let your order take delivery in the DMV, you can take delivery here, come straight to us, and drive it home transformed.

People already drive to Ashburn from several states for a wrap. What changes on this pathway is that the car is new and the trip is one trip instead of two: you were coming here for the car anyway.

Where customers have driven in from

  • Florida
  • California
  • Texas
  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Pennsylvania
  • North Carolina
  • Georgia
  • Massachusetts
  • Ohio

Those are states customers have come from. They are not TeslaWrapper locations and we are not opening in them — there is one studio, in Ashburn, Virginia.

What we do not provide

Transportation. We do not arrange, book, recommend or pay for any way of getting you or your car anywhere.

Lodging. We do not book hotels, hold rooms, or have a rate anywhere.

Pickup. We do not collect your car from a Tesla location, and we do not send anyone to meet you.

Same-day service as a default. Expedited timing is by scheduling and approval, and for most out-of-state customers the honest plan is a full wrap over two to three days.

Anything to do with your Tesla order. Delivery location, delivery date, changing either — all Tesla’s, none of it ours.

So plan it as a trip. Two to three days with the car for a full wrap means two to three nights, and that is yours to book. What we will do is confirm your window in writing before you book anything, and tell you the moment anything moves.

The journey

Seven steps. Three of them are not ours.

Marked, so you can see exactly how much of this belongs to Tesla and to you rather than to us. We do not control the ones marked Tesla — that is not modesty, it is the reason this pathway has to be arranged rather than sold.

  1. 01Buy your TeslaTesla / youYou order from Tesla. We are not involved, we are not a referrer, and we get nothing either way. Buy where and how you want.
  2. 02Plan your deliveryTesla / youAsk Tesla what your order can actually do — where they will deliver it, when, and whether the location can be changed. Tesla answers that, not us. Get the answer before you plan anything around an appointment.
  3. 03Book TeslaWrapperA separate booking, with us. Model, transformation, your expected delivery window, and which area you are taking delivery in. We come back on whether an expedited appointment can be offered around that window, and only then does a deposit come into it.
  4. 04Take deliveryTesla / youFrom Tesla, at Tesla’s location, on Tesla’s date. Do your delivery inspection with Tesla properly and do not rush it — anything you accept there is accepted, and a wrap over a delivery defect is a wrap over a delivery defect.
  5. 05Come to TeslaWrapperDrive it to the Ashburn studio at the time we agreed. Tell us when you leave the Tesla location, because the arrival time is one of the things an expedited appointment turns on.
  6. 06TransformationThe car is photographed and its condition recorded before anything is touched, you agree that record, and then the work runs to the scope you agreed. A full color change is two to three days with the car; an agreed same-day scope is smaller by definition.
  7. 07Drive homeWe walk the finished car with you against the intake record in daylight and you drive it home — to Virginia, or to Ohio. Nothing is owed at handover, because the balance was due at least 24 hours before the service date.
Two options

Same day, or next day.

Both describe when your car goes on the bench relative to your delivery. Neither describes when the work finishes, and we will not let them.

Same-day appointment

Delivered today. On the bench today.

You take delivery in the morning, drive straight over, and your car is worked on the same day. The scope that fits in a single day is agreed with you in writing before you pay.

Not this: It is not a full vehicle color change finished in a day, and we will not sell it as one. Same-day is a start time, not a finish time.

Suits: A defined partial scope — panels, a roof, a chrome delete — where seeing it done on day one is the point.

Next-day appointment

Take delivery today. On the bench tomorrow.

You take delivery, drive the car home or to your hotel for the night, and it starts with us the next morning. From there the project runs its normal length — two to three days with the car for a full wrap.

Not this: It is not a wrap completed the next day. The next day is when the work begins, and a full wrap still takes the days it takes.

Suits: A full color change, which is most people. It is the option that does not ask the work to be smaller than it is.

How long the work actually takes

A full color-change wrap is two to three days with the car, and a larger project can run to seven. That does not change because you took delivery this morning. Nothing on this page shortens the work — what it changes is how soon the work starts.

What same-day can honestly mean

Same-day means your car goes on the bench the day you take delivery. It does not mean a full vehicle color change is finished that evening — that is two to three days of work and no amount of scheduling compresses it. What can genuinely be completed inside one day is a smaller, defined scope: a set of panels, a roof and pillars, a hood and mirrors, a chrome delete. We agree exactly which panels in writing before you pay, so the word "same-day" means the same thing to both of us. If you want the whole car changed, plan on the car being with us two to three days and use the next-day option instead.

Timing

Book earlier than feels necessary.

The appointment is the part we can bring forward. The film is not. Material is ordered for your specific car once you have confirmed the exact film and color, we place that order within one to three business days, and it ships on our supplier’s schedule rather than ours. So the film for a delivery-day appointment has to be bought and in the building before your car exists on a truck.

In practice that means talking to us as soon as you have an order and an estimated delivery window — not when the delivery date is confirmed, which is often days away. If your date is close, tell us anyway: sometimes the film is already here, and when it is not we will tell you plainly rather than take a deposit against a date we cannot serve.

This is the part of the pathway most likely to be the reason we say the expedited timing does not work. It is worth knowing that before you pay, which is why it is here rather than in an FAQ.

Getting here

The drive, from each side of the DMV.

Wherever Tesla has you take delivery, the studio is in Ashburn, Virginia. What changes by area is the drive and what it does to your arrival time — which is one of the things an expedited appointment turns on.

District of Columbia

The drive. From the District it is a westbound run out along the Dulles corridor. It is the shortest distance of the three and reliably the slowest, because the whole trip is inside the commuter flow rather than crossing it.

Timing. A morning delivery followed by a westbound afternoon drive is the worst combination — you leave at the exact hour everyone else does. If you have any say in the delivery time, an early slot and a late-morning arrival beats an afternoon one by an hour or more.

Watch for. District parking and a brand-new car with temporary tags is a bad combination for a long wait. If there is a gap between taking delivery and your appointment, spend it moving rather than parked.

Maryland

The drive. From the Maryland side it is a Beltway crossing to reach the Virginia side, then west. The Potomac crossings are the whole story of this drive: everything else on it is ordinary.

Timing. Budget for the crossing rather than the miles. The distance from parts of Montgomery County is modest and the crossing can still take longer than the rest of the trip combined, which is what surprises people who measured it on a map.

Watch for. If your delivery lands late in the day, a Maryland-side delivery plus a crossing is the combination most likely to put your arrival outside the window an expedited appointment needs. Tell us your delivery time, not just your delivery date.

Virginia

The drive. The Northern Virginia approach is the simplest of the three — same side of the river as the studio, no crossing, and for much of the area a straightforward run out to Ashburn.

Timing. It is the area where a same-day arrival is most often realistic, because the drive is short enough that a mid-morning delivery still lands you here with usable hours left. Realistic is not the same as available — the appointment still has to exist.

Watch for. Being close makes people casual about the delivery inspection. Do it properly at the Tesla location. Coming back to a delivery issue after a wrap has started is far worse than an extra twenty minutes on the day.

Why do it on delivery day

Four reasons, and four we are not claiming.

What it actually gets you

Nobody sees it in the color it arrived in

The car is transformed before it is parked at your house, shown to anyone, or photographed. That is the actual appeal of doing this on delivery day, and it is the one benefit that needs no qualification.

No gap between owning it and it looking right

The normal path is a car you drive for four to eight weeks in a color you did not want while a booking works up the calendar. This removes that gap — the booking is already done before the car exists.

A new car is the easiest condition we ever see

No failing clearcoat, no old film to come off, no repainted panel to work around. Those are the condition surprises that change what a finish can look like, and a delivery-day car mostly does not have them. It does not remove the inspection and it is not a promise your car will be accepted.

One trip instead of two

For anyone driving in from out of state, the trip to collect the car and the trip to have it wrapped become the same trip. That is the whole of the out-of-state case.

What we are not claiming

Not paint protection

Color-change vinyl is not paint protection film, and we do not sell it as impact or rock-chip protection. If protection is the goal rather than appearance, ask about 3M™ Protection Wrap Film — that is a different film at a different price.

Not a factory-paint claim

We make no claim about what film does or does not do for the paint underneath it, on a new car or any other car, and nothing on this page should be read as one.

Not a resale argument

We make no resale, residual or value claim of any kind. Wrap the car because you want it to look like that.

Not faster work

Expedited is about when the appointment starts relative to your delivery. The work itself takes exactly as long as it takes, and we would rather lose the booking than rush a panel to hit a story about a day.

Limits

Who this actually works for.

Not every Tesla delivery location in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia works for this. We do not claim every Tesla facility in the area participates or is eligible, because that is not ours to claim — Tesla decides what your order is offered.

Not every customer is accepted. Every project on this site is subject to review and to our service-acceptance policy, and a delivery-day project is reviewed the same way as any other.

Not every delivery date can be matched. An expedited appointment has to exist on the day, the material has to be here, and the car has to arrive with enough hours left in the day to be worth starting.

None of that is a reason not to ask. It is a reason to ask early, and to hear the answer before you have booked a flight around it.

What we do not guarantee

  • Same-day completion
  • Next-day completion
  • A delivery location
  • Appointment availability
  • A turnaround time

What an expedited appointment is subject to

  • Availability of an expedited appointment on the day in question
  • What time the car actually arrives after you take delivery
  • The condition of the vehicle when we see it
  • Material availability for the film and color you chose
  • TeslaWrapper approval of the project
Start to finish

The whole sequence, in order.

Including the two points people most often get wrong: when money moves, and when the balance is due.

  1. 01StartOne short sequence rather than a form. It asks the three things that decide what your service is, and nothing that has to wait for a car to exist.
  2. 02Select your TeslaModel 3, Model Y or Cybertruck. Those are the three we wrap.
  3. 03Select your transformationColor-change vinyl, 3M™ Protection Wrap Film, Avery Dennison® Conform Chrome, or Paradox Supreme Color PPF. The price is the published price for that film.
  4. 04Enter your delivery locationDistrict of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia, plus the delivery window Tesla has given you and how firm it is. This is about your drive to Ashburn — it is not a claim about which Tesla locations exist or which ones will take your order.
  5. 05Pay the service depositThe published service deposit for the film you chose, through the same links every other project uses. It is applied to your service total rather than added to it, and it reserves the project rather than a date.
  6. 06TeslaWrapper project reviewWe review the vehicle, the film, the color, the material lead time and whether an expedited appointment can be offered around your delivery window. This is where you get a real answer on the timing rather than a hopeful one.
  7. 07ApprovedThe project is accepted and we tell you what we can actually do around your delivery. If we decline it instead, the existing refund policy applies exactly as it does on every other project here.
  8. 08Final details confirmedScope, exact film and color, the service date we are aiming at, VIN, and who is authorized to hand the car over. Material is ordered against what you confirm here, and that is the point after which the project cannot be canceled.
  9. 09Remaining balance dueAt least 24 hours before your service date. Not at reservation, not the moment the project is approved, and not on the day — 24 hours ahead, so that a payment problem is found while there is still time to fix it rather than with your car in the bay.
  10. 10Payment completeSquare settles immediately; a Zelle payment is applied only once we have verified actual receipt, which is why paying by Zelle needs more than 24 hours rather than exactly 24.
  11. 11Service confirmedConfirmed in writing: the date, the arrival window, the scope, and what happens if Tesla moves your delivery. Confirmation follows the balance rather than preceding it.
  12. 12TransformationYour car is photographed and its condition recorded before anything is touched, you agree that record, and the work runs to the scope you agreed.
  13. 13Quality controlEdges, seams, recesses and the panels people never look at until the light is right. It is a stage with its own time in it, not a glance on the way to the door.
  14. 14HandoverWe walk the finished car with you against the intake record, in daylight. Nothing is owed at this point, and you drive it home.

When the balance is due

Your remaining balance — $6,000 on a $7,000 color-change service, after the $1,000 service deposit — is due at least 24 hours before your service date. Not at reservation, not when the project is approved, and not on the day.

This is the site-wide rule stated as a deadline rather than a direction. Everywhere else the balance is due before installation begins; on this pathway installation can begin the morning after a delivery, so "before" has to be a time you can plan against. Paying earlier is fine and changes nothing about the service.

Reserve

The published deposit. Nothing new.

There is no delivery-day price and no rush charge. It is the published price for the film you choose — Color-change vinyl from $7,000, Protection Wrap Film from $11,000, Conform Chrome from $15,000 — with the same deposit and the same links as any other project.

Put your model and color in the Square note.

When Square asks, put your Tesla model and the color you want in the note — we cannot match a deposit to a car without it.

On this pathway, add your expected delivery window to that note as well. It is the fastest way for us to work out whether an expedited appointment is possible.

Color-change vinyl

From $7,000$1,000 service deposit

Pay $1,000 & reserve your project

Protection Wrap Film

From $11,000$3,000 service deposit

Pay $3,000 & reserve your project

Conform Chrome

From $15,000$4,000 service deposit

Pay $4,000 & reserve your project

Paradox Supreme Color PPF is paid in full rather than as a deposit and a balance, so it is arranged on its own page with its own terms.

Check the total before you tap Pay. Square offers a tip on these links and it arrives already selected. It is optional and it is not part of your project price. The amount you owe us is $1,000. Anything above that is the tip — clear it, change it, or leave it. Your project is identical either way.

This is the standard case: color-change vinyl, at the Ashburn studio, inside our home area, with no old film to remove. Travel, removal and the thicker films change the number — check which one you are before you pay.

We do not carry insurance on your car. There is no commercial garage-keepers policy covering damage to your Tesla while it is with us, and no policy number to give you, because there is no policy. What we do instead is document: the car is photographed and its condition recorded at intake, and we walk it with you against that record at handover. That deters and it evidences — it does not indemnify you. Your own insurance is the coverage that applies. The full terms.

The deposit is non-refundable. Paying it commits the project. We do not decline work over timing or difficulty — what we do instead is tell you the truth about your car first. Failing clearcoat, rust or an old wrap underneath change what the finish can look like, and we will show you what to expect on your car rather than after it. The decision is yours. If we do decline a project after you have paid, the deposit is returned in full. What we tell you before you pay.

The cars

Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck.

Taking delivery of a new Model 3?

Take delivery. Get wrapped. Drive home.

Arrange your delivery with Tesla, reserve an expedited project with us separately, and bring the car straight over. Twelve panels, and the 2024 refresh takes different patterns — which is one more reason to have the material here before the car is.

Taking delivery of a new Model Y?

Take delivery. Get wrapped. Drive home.

Arrange your delivery with Tesla, reserve an expedited project with us separately, and bring the car straight over. It is the Tesla we wrap most, so it is the one where the material is most often already in the building.

Taking delivery of a Cybertruck?

Take delivery. Get wrapped. Drive home.

Arrange your delivery with Tesla, reserve an expedited project with us separately, and bring it straight over. Thirteen panels of stainless flats and hard folds, and a bare truck has its own material conversation — start it early rather than on delivery day.

We wrap the Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck. The Model S and Model X are not vehicles we take, so there is no delivery-day pathway for them either.

Questions

The ones that decide it.

Can you get my Tesla delivered to a specific location?

No. Tesla delivery locations, delivery dates, and the ability to change a delivery location are controlled by Tesla and are subject to Tesla’s policies and availability. We have no visibility into your order and no way to influence it. Ask Tesla what your order can do, then tell us the answer.

Is booking with you the same as booking my delivery?

No — they are two separate bookings with two different companies. You arrange delivery with Tesla independently. You reserve your expedited project with us separately. Neither one creates or confirms the other, and neither one fixes a date — your service date is confirmed against the delivery Tesla actually gives you, and Tesla can move that.

Will my car really be wrapped the same day I take delivery?

Same-day means it goes on the bench that day, not that a full wrap is finished that evening. A full color change is two to three days with the car. What genuinely fits in one day is a smaller scope — a set of panels, a roof, a chrome delete — agreed in writing before you pay. If you want the whole car changed, use the next-day option and plan on the normal two to three days.

Do you guarantee the expedited appointment?

No. What is offered is expedited appointments available by scheduling and approval, subject to availability, your arrival time, the condition of the vehicle, material availability and our approval. We do not guarantee same-day completion, next-day completion, a delivery location, appointment availability or a turnaround time.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Earlier than feels necessary, and the reason is material rather than the calendar. Film is ordered for your specific car after you confirm the exact film and color, we place that order within one to three business days, and it ships on our supplier’s schedule. The film has to be here before the car is. Talk to us when you have an order and an estimated window, not when the date is confirmed.

What happens if Tesla moves my delivery date?

Tell us as soon as you know and we will do what we can with the calendar. What does not happen is a refund: the deposit reserves your project rather than a date, it is non-refundable from the moment it is paid, and that is true here for the same reason it is true everywhere else on this site. Your project stands and we reschedule it.

I am buying my Tesla in another state. Does this work?

It can, if Tesla will let your order take delivery here — which is Tesla’s decision, not ours. Customers have driven in from Florida, California, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Massachusetts and Ohio. Those are places people came from, not places we operate. We do not arrange transportation, we do not book lodging, and we do not pick the car up.

Does this cost more than a normal wrap?

No. There is no delivery-day price, no expedite fee and no rush charge. It is the published price for the film you choose, with the published deposit, paid through the same links every other project uses.

Do you do this for the Model S or Model X?

No. We wrap the Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck only. The Model S and Model X are not vehicles we take, on this pathway or any other.

Can I have the car delivered straight to you?

No. You take delivery from Tesla, at Tesla’s location, and you drive it to us. We are not a delivery point, we are not part of Tesla’s process, and nothing about your delivery is arranged through us.

TeslaWrapper is an independent vehicle wrap studio. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, authorized by or in any way connected to Tesla, Inc.
