Electric soft-close frunk system

A powered actuator and bracket that pulls the frunk lid closed rather than needing it pressed shut by hand.

Fitment on every car below is not settled.

  • Model 3 — 2021–2024 in one place and 2021–2023 in another Not settled.
  • Model Y — 2021–2024, per the manufacturer Not settled.

What is unsettled is set out below. Nobody here has held one of these against a car.

Available by order, subject to fitment and supplier availability. Nothing here is held in stock.

This part sits on a safety system.

  • It sits on the factory frunk latch — the mechanism that holds the front lid shut while the car is moving.

We will not tell you it still works afterward. Nobody here has tested this part against those systems, a product description is not a test, and a page that promised otherwise would be guessing with something that is not ours to guess with.

What happens instead: compatibility with your specific car is checked before anything is ordered, the work goes to someone qualified to do it, and if the check does not come back clean the answer is no and you have spent nothing.

These are the manufacturer’s own photographs of the part, not photographs of work this shop has done. Several carry the maker’s sales copy burned into the image. We have not fitted one of these to a car and photographed it, and when we do, that photograph will say so.

Model 3
2021–2024 in one place and 2021–2023 in anotherFitment unresolved — see the open question below. The year range is not settled: one part of the manufacturer’s own documentation says 2021–2024 and their own product image says 2021–2023. A frunk latch is not a part to order against an approximate year.
Model Y
2021–2024, per the manufacturerFitment unresolved — see the open question below. No supplied photograph shows this part on a Model Y, and the only year range printed on a product image names the Model 3.

What the manufacturer advertises

The manufacturer’s claims about their own part, reproduced. Nobody here has tested one of them.

  • Pulls the frunk lid closed under power instead of it being pressed shut

What nobody has settled yet

Published rather than smoothed over. Each of these is resolved against your car before anything is ordered.

  • Model S and Model X fitment is also advertised for this part. Those are legacy cars this shop does not take — not for a wrap and not for a part — so neither is offered here, whatever the supplier’s catalog says.

There is no price on this page. The installer has not given us labor rates for accessory work, so any figure here would be half a number — and a part price without fitting beside it reads as the installed price. Ask and you get the whole thing or nothing.
