LED rear spoiler
A trunk-lip spoiler with a lit red strip running its width, wired in as a brake light. It changes how the back of the car looks and it adds a lamp to a lighting system that is regulated — which is why most of this page is about the second part.
Fitment, with 1 of these 3 applications not settled.
- Model 3 — 2017–2023, per the manufacturer
- Model 3 — Highland, 2024 and later, per the manufacturer
- Model Y — 2020 to early 2025 Not settled.
What is unsettled is set out below. Nobody here has held one of these against a car.
Available by order, subject to fitment and supplier availability. Nothing here is held in stock.
This part sits on a safety system.
- It sits on the rear brake lights — federally regulated stop lamps, which this part adds to.
- It sits on the factory center high-mounted stop lamp, which this part mounts directly in front of.
We will not tell you it still works afterward. Nobody here has tested this part against those systems, a product description is not a test, and a page that promised otherwise would be guessing with something that is not ours to guess with.
What happens instead: this shop fits this part, and before it accepts the job it checks the part against your specific car and puts what it found in writing — so the decision is one you made rather than one you learn about afterward. Where the honest answer is that we would rather not take the job on your car, you get that answer instead of a quote.
Mounts with adhesive, per the manufacturer.
Adhesive and A wiring harness run to the trunk lid, per the manufacturer — their account of their part, not our survey of your car. It sits on the car’s rear lighting circuit.

These are the manufacturer’s own photographs of the part, not photographs of work this shop has done. Several carry the maker’s sales copy burned into the image. We have not fitted one of these to a car and photographed it, and when we do, that photograph will say so.

- Model Y
- 2020 to early 2025Fitment unresolved — see the open question below. The end of the Model Y range is given two different ways in the same document — one place says February 2025 and another says March 2025. A month is the whole difference for a car built in between, so it is settled before an order.
- Fitting
- Fitted by this shop. Who does the work is settled; what the part does to the system it sits on is not, and the section above is not softened by this one.
What the manufacturer advertises
The manufacturer’s claims about their own part, reproduced. Nobody here has tested one of them.
- An LED strip across the spoiler, wired as a brake light
What has to be true of your car
- This adds a red lamp to the back of your car. Whether a supplemental rear lamp is permitted, and in what configuration, is a matter of state equipment law where you drive. We do not give that answer and this page is not it.
- It mounts with adhesive and needs a wiring harness run to it.
- The adhesive is specified to cure for 72 hours. For those three days the car cannot be washed and nothing high-pressure goes near the back of it. That window is the manufacturer’s figure and is confirmed against the instructions that come with your part — it is a restriction, not a promise about what is safe afterward.
What nobody has settled yet
Published rather than smoothed over. Each of these is resolved against your car before anything is ordered.
- Whether this spoiler obstructs the factory high-mounted brake light has not been established. It mounts on the trailing edge of the trunk lid, which is where that lamp lives, and blocking a lamp the car is required to have is a worse outcome than a new lamp that does not work. This is checked on the actual car before anything is ordered.
- Two of the three frames that came with this part are not shown. Each carried a claim in the pixels that this shop will not republish; the reasons are recorded against the images themselves.
There is no price on this page. The installer has not given us labor rates for accessory work, so any figure here would be half a number — and a part price without fitting beside it reads as the installed price. Ask and you get the whole thing or nothing.
